Electrolyte & Hydration Drinks FAQ & Buying Guide

What is the difference between an electrolyte drink and an energy drink?

An electrolyte drink replaces minerals and fluid and usually has little or no caffeine, so you can drink it during training, at work, or in the evening. An energy drink is built around caffeine for alertness. If you want both, pair a hydration drink with a can from our Energy Drinks collection rather than looking for one product to do two jobs.

When should I drink electrolytes?

Any time you are sweating for longer than about an hour, training in heat, or coming off a session where plain water isn't cutting it. Many customers keep a bottle for during and right after training, and a sugar-free can for everyday hydration on shift or on the road.

Are these hydration drinks sugar-free?

Many are. Applied Nutrition Na11 and Gatorade Zero are sugar-free, while classic Gatorade and coconut water carry natural or added carbohydrates, which some athletes want for longer endurance sessions. Each product page shows the full nutrition panel so you can pick by sugar content.

Ready-to-drink electrolytes or electrolyte powder?

Same minerals, different format. Powders and tablets cost less per serving and let you set the strength; ready-to-drink bottles win on convenience and taste straight from the fridge. Most customers keep a tub of powder at home and a case of bottles or cans for the gym bag. Powders live in our Hydration & Electrolytes collection.

Is coconut water a good electrolyte drink?

Coconut water is naturally high in potassium and has some sodium and magnesium, so it works well for everyday hydration and lighter sessions. For heavy sweat loss, a formulated sports drink with more sodium is the better match, because sodium is the mineral you lose most.

Does Fuel Supplements ship hydration drinks across Canada?

Yes. We ship Canada-wide from our BC warehouses, free on orders over $100, with same-day pickup available in Port Coquitlam. Cases of 12 are the best value if you drink them daily.
